ExHS
Foundational Program
(Full In-Person, 5 Days a Week)
The Foundational Program is our full, in-person learning model designed to immerse students in the complete Exploration High School experience. Students attend school Monday through Friday, engaging in rigorous, project-based learning courses, electives, and collaborative academic experiences that connect learning to real-world impact.

Monday through Thursday, students participate in interdisciplinary, project-based core courses and electives grounded in inquiry, public good, and future-ready skill development.
​
Fridays are FLEX Fridays — a signature part of the ExHS experience. All students engage in our Career-Based Learning Program and experiential, community-based courses that connect them directly to industry professionals, mentors, and hands-on opportunities beyond the classroom.
​
This model is ideal for students who thrive in daily, in-person collaboration and want the full immersive ExHS experience five days a week.

Scholars of Impact Hybrid Program
(Blended In-Person & At-Home Learning Model)
The ExHS Scholars of Impact Hybrid Program offers a flexible, structured learning pathway that combines in-person instruction with independent, at-home learning.

9th & 10th Grade: In-person on Mondays and Wednesdays

11th & 12th Grade: In-person on Tuesdays and Thursdays

All Scholars of Impact Hybrid Students: Attend in person on Fridays for FLEX Friday Career-Based Learning and experiential community programming
​
Students attend school three days per week and work asynchronously from home two days per week. On at-home days, students complete assigned coursework, projects, and academic milestones through our structured digital learning platform.
​
All Scholars of Impact Hybrid students participate in our Chromebook Lending Program and are expected to maintain consistent academic progress and engagement on remote days.
​
This program is designed for students who benefit from increased flexibility while still engaging in hands-on, career-connected learning and community-based experiences that define the
Exploration High School model.

✔ Applications submitted during this window are included in the lottery if needed
✔ Only one application per student
✔ All applications are date-stamped upon receipt
If more applications are received than seats available, a fair and transparent lottery will be conducted.

ALL families who attend a Super Saturday session will be entered into a drawing.
Across all sessions, we are giving away 5 iPads to participants in a drawing from those who participated.

Lottery
How the Lottery Works (If Needed)
​
If applications exceed available seats...
1) A random lottery is conducted
2) Families are notified within 24 hours
3) Families have 72 business hours to accept their seat
​
Lottery order of preference (as required by Minnesota law):
1) Siblings of currently enrolled students
2) Children of Exploration High School staff (480+ hours annually)
3) General applicants
​
Waiting lists are established if grades fill.
Waiting lists do not carry over year to year.
​

✔ Any student residing in a Minnesota school district

If seats remain available:
✔ Students are admitted in the order applications are received

✔ Students are placed on a waiting list
Families Must:

Twins & Multiple Births:
Each student must submit a separate application.
If one sibling is admitted and space allows, siblings may be admitted together.

Enrollment Policy
​
Exploration High School will accept applications from November 20, 2025 until February 12, 2026. If Exploration High School receives more applications than available spaces, a lottery will be held. Students who submit applications after February 12, 2026 will be automatically admitted in the order applications are received, as long as there are available spaces in the applicable grade. When all spaces in a grade are filled, applications are added to the waiting list in the order they were received.
