Third Wednesday in February – Last Wednesday in May

✔ Applications submitted during this window are included in the lottery if needed
✔ Only one application per student
✔ All applications are date-stamped upon receipt

If more applications are received than seats available, a fair and transparent lottery will be conducted.

🎟 How the Lottery Works (If Needed)

If applications exceed available seats:

🎲 A random lottery is conducted
📧 Families are notified within 24 hours
⏳ Families have 72 business hours to accept their seat

 

Lottery order of preference (as required by Minnesota law):

1️⃣ Siblings of currently enrolled students
2️⃣ Children of Exploration High School staff (480+ hours annually)
3️⃣ General applicants

Waiting lists are established if grades fill.
Waiting lists do not carry over year to year.

✔ Any student residing in a Minnesota school district
✔ Tuition-free public charter high school

📥 After Open Enrollment

If seats remain available:
✔ Students are admitted in the order applications are received

If a grade is full:
✔ Students are placed on a waiting list

 

Families must:

• Keep contact information updated

• Provide transcripts upon acceptance

• Inform the school of IEP or 504 services

 

👯 Twins & Multiple Births

Each student must submit a separate application.
If one sibling is admitted and space allows, siblings may be admitted together.
